Well, since I did a pocket for sanitary pads, I did one for tampons to! It turned out really qute I think! And no worries if it falls out from the bag! :-)

Men ingen kul dag…

Men nu är det masdjävlar på tvn här i bakgrunden och jag sitter och virkar med mitt nya lingarn, då är det faktiskt ändå ganska bra! Måste nog ta och börja lyssna på lite mer folkmusik… tycker verkligen om det.

THIS made me get not enough sleep tonight… When I start I can’t stop. It works, but demands som refinements in the pattern again. I just improvise them as I go along, so the symetry is not always perfect! But I quite like it anyway!

a pattern test that turned out a sanitary pocket! :-) on the photo it contains three sanitary pads! It’s a bit small I think, I would like to fit in more than only three. But with this, no worries if it falls out of tha bag! I might just do some more just for fun… Perfect gift just for fun! And a perfect thing to do when trying out patterns – you can actually use it for something! It’s done like a pillow case, so there are no strings to keep track of, and no zipper! Since the pads are bendable and the pocket in itself is strechable, it’s very easy to put them in and take them out!

this one did turn out the way I wanted to! I still have some refinements to do on the pattern, but this version really works I think!

Voila! It’s quite medieval I think. I did another one too, a more traditional one, but the photos didn’t turn out good so it’ll have to wait. I’m to tired to do it now.

coming along… getting longer and longer! But oh, it takes time. I take every occation possible to work on it, on the bus, on yesterdays party… Wasn’t much party for me anyway because I’ve been working today, starting early. But it was really nice and I know the people really well so it’s no problem crocheting while having a beer with them! :-)

Beer can actually make me crochet more relaxed but still fast…  but I guess that wont work with more than two… :-)

And to come: a second crocheted and starched bridal crown. It’s starching right now… And I think it turned out great! Not only qute, but good too; the pattern was actually planned…

Now the glue has hardend fully, and I must say I prefere sugar-water-starching. The glue turned out to make it hard enough, but it wasn’t flexible in the same way as sugar water.  When it broke, it stayed loose in that section. With the sugar water, I find it is more flexible and plastic, that it is possible to reshape it over and over. But in defense of the glue starch – the crochet wasn’t very stable in itself so I guess it was bound not to be very stiff.

And I’m not to happy with the size or the height. It’s just a bit to small. And uneven. But hey, it was an at the moment inspired crown, no pattern and no exact plan, so I can’t expect to much.

Here are some photos! It’s qute, but not good… :-)

The mini project of tonight; a crochet bridal crown. As with the christening dress without the baby, I dont have a bride for the crown… but who cares! :-)  it’s the fun of doing it that gives me satisfaction!

As said in the headline: it’s in a starching process right at this moment. I have starched some things before with sugar water, and it has turn out fine, but now I’m trying with glue! 1 part white wood glue + 1 part water is what I’m trying out now. I just dipped the whole thing in it and pressed out the exess fluid with my fingers. Than I arranged it around the bottom of a plastic bowl which I hope corresponds to the normal birdal crown size… I have no idea if it really will be a good size… but who cares! :-)

It’s actually not a circular crown, but rather a headpiece… in swedish it would be called a “diadem” i guess, because it’s open in the back.

It is comming along. I’m working on the skirt and it sure takes a while… I would like to have it REALLY long, but it will take time. I crochet one row in about 22 minutes, 20 if I go for it.
